Apprentice Bradley Johnson is carving a career thanks to M&A Carpentry
Sixteen-year-old Bradley Johnson is earning while learning thanks to his apprenticeship with M&A Carpentry.
The teenager has been teamed with experienced carpenter Ryan Rice who is showing him the ropes, ahead of starting his block release course at Southampton City College next week (September 23).
“I really like working with Ryan – he makes it fun but I feel like I’m learning lots too.
“I like working with wood and being hands on. I’ve been learning all sorts from hanging doors to fitting skirting boards,” he said.
Managing Director Martin O’Reilly said he was really keen to help youngsters get a foot on the career ladder and he wholeheartedly supports the apprenticeship route.
“We have three apprentices starting college this year and each will be paired with one of our experienced team when they are working on site.
“It is a great way for them to learn and we have a couple of great guys working for us now who came to us as apprentices.
“I am really proud of what they have achieved,” he said.
